Have some broken crayons lying around? Don’t throw them away. Turn them into adorable hearts with this super simple DIY.

What you’ll need
Broken crayons
A bowl of warm water
A heart shaped silicone candy mold

What you’ll need to do
Step 1: soak crayons in warm water for few minutes. This will allow you to easily remove the wrappers.
Step 2: Place broken crayons into the silicone mold. Fill them up to the very top, they will shrink.
I like to separate the colors but you could also make two-toned hearts by placing two colors next to each other in one mold.
Step 3: Preheat oven to 200
Step 4: Place the mold on a baking sheet and bake at 200 for about 20 minutes or until the crayons have completely liquified.
Step 5: Allow the mold to cool completely. You can put it in the freezer to speed up the process.
Step 6: Carefully pop out the crayons once they have completely cooled off. If you break one, don’t worry! You can also make new shapes out of the broken hearts.
Step 7: color and enjoy! Tip: If giving these as favors to children, please be sure to clearly indicate they are crayons and not candy, because they look exactly like pieces of candy!
