Ramadan is a month of fasting, spiritual development, charity, and worship for many Muslims around the world.
What does Ramadan decor look like?
One of the most interesting things about this month is that it begins and ends with the sighting of a crescent moon. Because of this, much of the decor features lunar inspired items, including moons, stars, warm lights, and lanterns.
Where can I buy Ramadan decor?
Decorating for Ramadan has always required a bit of creativity. Up until very recently, major retailers did not carry ready-made Ramadan decor, or even greeting cards. The best option would be to purchase directly from a small business in-person, online on sites like etsy or eBay, or to thrift it! As of now, Amazon, Party City, and Temu are the only major retailers that sell ready-made Ramadan and Eid decor.
How to thrift Ramadan decor?
In addition to supporting local crafters and small business owners, I started collecting items over several years to create my own Ramadan vignette. I look for the following items when I’m thrifting:
- Lanterns
- Moon Shaped Accents
- Star Shaped Candle Holders
- LED Candles and Tea Lights
- String Lights
- Ornate Book holders
- Gold or Blue Candles
