Kale Pineapple Green Smoothie

I love sweets. I love them very much. I’m talking Mcflurries, cookies, coconut cream pie…you name it, if it’s sweet, I’ll eat it. Although I have a salad every day for lunch, I realized I’m really not eating enough greens in general. I’ve noticed that my skin takes longer to heal from a breakout and my daily/nightly face routine has reached a point where it’s not really doing much anymore. A few of my friends drink green smoothies daily and swear by them, so I decided it’s time to jump on the green bandwagon and see if it helps with my skin dilemma. It goes without saying, these smoothies are really good for you. I made fun of my friend Ashley when she came over drinking a pineapple kale green smoothie from a local smoothie shop and told her it looked like diarrhea, but man was that thing tasty! After spending $12 in one week buying this smoothie, I decided it was time I made my own. It’s not exactly like the one from the smoothie place – they have a way of making it super thick. This is still very tasty and has just enough natural sweetness to it, which is good because I need it to be sweet. Duh.

What you need (makes about 3 cups)

2 cups kale
1/2 a fresh pineapple
1 papaya
1 cup plain Greek yogurt. You can probably use a flavored kind of Greek yogurt too for added flavor-but there’s more sugar in the flavored kinds.
Ice (optional) I use ice sometimes, other times I just put them in the freezer about 15 minutes before I drink them.

What you need to do:

Blend everything together in a blender or food processor.

Do you drink green smoothies? If so, I would love to hear new recipes and techniques!
