Thrift Vintage Outlet doesn’t stop at being a store; it’s also a community hub. To strengthen South Florida’s thrifting culture, they introduced a market that invites vintage, artisan, and food vendors .The Market initiative invites vintage, artisan, and food vendors to come together and share their creations. During the summer months, spaces are available for $25, while fall and winter bring a $50 fee. Aspiring vendors with secondhand items, handmade creations, reworked pieces, or food and drinks are welcomed to be a part of this creative space. They even use the space to host monthly yoga events.
Growing Your Reselling Business: The Power of Wholesale Vintage
As a part-time reseller of secondhand clothing, I’m keenly aware of the amount of time and energy it takes to source at traditional thrift stores. For those seeking to grow their reselling business, Thrift Vintage Fashion introduces the concept of wholesale vintage, allowing you to purchase items in quantities as small as 5 pieces per category or as large as 100-pound bales. The more you buy, the more you save, making this approach a strategic move for ambitious entrepreneurs.
Not a reseller? No worries! They offer small vintage & retro mystery packs in several categories and in a variety of sizes. As a frugal and picky thrifter, I’m the first person to tell you that I’m a little hesitant to purchase mystery boxes online, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. But Thrift Vintage Fashion brought so much joy to my inner 90s child with the cartoon mystery t-shirt box. Choose from various options, including the freedom to pick a single category, curate custom mystery packs, or indulge in premium vintage finds per category.
From Donations to Raghouses: A Global Web
So how does this all work? How are vintage items sourced?
In the world of thrift shopping, there’s a hidden journey that most of us don’t think about. It begins with donations of used clothing to organizations like the Salvation Army and Goodwill. But, as you may have heard us mention on our thrift podcast, not all items find a direct place in local thrift stores. Due to an overflow of secondhand items, a surplus emerges. So what happens next?
Enter raghouses—global hubs that purchase raw goods from American markets to sort, process, and export. These raghouses play a pivotal role in channeling the surplus items to markets worldwide, giving new life to discarded garments.
Thrift Vintage Fashion sources Grade A and a small percentage of Grade B clothing in a variety of sizes and categories, including t-shirts, sweatshirts, and denim. Curious to see how it works in action? Watch Thrift Vintage Fashion’s vintage sourcing process on their Instagram page.
