It’s time for the return of the best thrift store purchase ever, the Tracy Reese funnel coat.
All last winter, I wore it closed but these mild temperatures allow me the opportunity to style the coat differently by leaving it open. I’m always looking for comfy dresses for work and this dress from Village Discount Outlet was exactly what I had in mind. The dress was from their new goods section so it’s never been worn. It’s like buying a brand new dress from a retail store but with a much smaller price tag. I usually try to stick to the used items to keep my costs low but this is such a versatile and functional piece, I knew I’d wear it dozens of times. Plus the neutral grey colors makes for easy styling.
This week is the last week for the #ABCsofThrifting challenge on Instagram. I had so much fun discovering new thrifty friends and most importantly, it helped me tremendously when getting ready in the morning. This week’s prompt was T is for Texture. It was sort of a hard prompt because I wasn’t about to wear a sequin dress to work. However, I quickly realized that adding texture doesn’t just have to be beads and embelishments. It can be a scarf, a statement necklace, a tassel, leather or suede patches, or even lace. A little texture can totally elevate your outfit! Thanks so much to everyone who participated in my first closet challenge. I’m brainstorming ideas for the next one.
