Stripe Maxi Skirt & Cropped Top

I started early with the cropped top and maxi skirt this year thanks to the beautiful weather in New Orleans last month and I can assure you that this will be my Ohio uniform this summer. Between all of the Goodwill events lately, I haven’t had the time to take outfit photos so I am recycling a few from vacation until I can come up for air. I’m excited about this look because I remixed this maxi skirt since  I wore in the fall with tights.  It was one of the best purchases I  made last year, I can go on all day about how comfy, breezy, and flattering it is. Not to mention it was on sale when I bought it!

The Village carries new items in their “new arrival” section. These have a white tag, are priced higher than the used items, have never been worn before, and are usually super trendy pieces. I tend to avoid this section all together for several reasons, mainly because they tend to be too trendy for me and I think it’s silly to pay for overpriced items at the thrift store (and  by over priced I mean $10-15). However, in the case of the cropped top, the new arrival section worked to my advantage. $8 was a reasonable price for a cropped top that I will wear all summer. I’m not discouraging you from shopping the new arrivals section but rather clarifying why the prices are higher. Anytime I take new thrifters there they are confused by the higher price tags.
