Between the hat, boots, and off-the-shoulder sweater I felt like I stepped out of a 1990s Real World episode in this outfit. I am loving all the 90s vibes lately. This was one of those ah-ha! outfit moments for me. As much as I love fall fashion, it requires much more thought for me than summer. June through August I live in easy, breezy maxi dresses and skirts that require no effort at all. Because this took ten minutes to throw this on, this outfit helped me realize that fall can also be just as easy if I have the right pieces to make it work. So I made a list of fall essentials – my own wardrobe capsule if you will: oversized sweaters, hats, loose long-sleeve tees, skinny jeans, layering flannels, and a couple of ponchos. All of which you will see more of on the blog soon.
If thrifting hats isn’t your thing, look for the new goods section at both The Village and Goodwill. These items are priced a bit higher since they are new and never used. The Village has a fantastic collection of new fall hats in stock right now, like the one I’m wearing. If used hats don’t bother you, simply spray them with Lysol spray.
